  7. Hello Le! I stumbled across your blog and I am very impressed. If you don’t mind, I would like to ask you for some advice regarding exercise. Here’s the run down (brief as I can!);

    – I am 25yrs old. I weigh 97lbs. This has been my constant weight for the past 5yrs.

    – I do not “exercise” regularly but I am healthy (don’t have a car so I walk or take the metro everywhere, I always take the stairs, I don’t eat junk food, occasionally play sports (some soccer on a weekend with nothing to do), I hike up our little local mountain about 1x a week. So despite not having an exercise routine, I consider myself averagely fit.

    – Entering our 3rd year of marriage, my husband and I are planning to start trying for a family in Summer 2013 and I want to make sure I am off to the absolute best start.

    – Diet & Nutrition wise: I have begun taking daily vitamins (regular and prenatal) and folic acid as well. I have upped my vegetable and protein intake. Cut out almost all white (i.e. white bread, white rice, white pasta etc). Don’t smoke and only drink socially (1 or 2 glasses of wine a week). On this front I feel pretty confident I am on the right track.

    – Exercise wise: I have no idea where to start :-/ I played sports at university (soccer, tennis etc) but I have never joined a gym and exercised regularly. I want to start a routine now, but not quite sure where to start. Do I use a treadmill or an elliptical? Do I lift weights or do cardio? I genuinely don’t know! Which is what I need help with.

    – I looked into hiring a personal trainer for like a month to show me the ropes but they are so expensive 😦 So I have decided to do my homework and get as much information as I can on my own.

I know it’s hard to give solid feedback for something like this, but ANY suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Kostas

  8. Hi! I want to win La Tortilla wraps!! I love seeing all your food in them on Instagram. What I’d like to try with them are breakfast wraps (with eggs), lunch and dinner wraps (with chicken or turkey) plus vegetables in both of these. Also making pizzas on them! Toast them for chips? I’m a 22 year old college study trying to eat as clean as possible on a limit budget so winning these would be much appreciated and helpful! Thanks! Look forward to more of your food!

  9. I found your site while searching for the HEB kale salad recipe. I am enjoying your site and wanted to say that you have the sweetest little family!

I just dusted off our workout equipment and would love to start a workout problem but I have no clue where to start, especially when it comes to lifting weights. You make it look so easy! My husband hates to workout so most nights he is on the sofa watching tv, which is discouraging to me. *sigh*

I guess I need someone to motivate me at this point. I also have food allergies so depending on what I eat, I feel 9 months pregnant! I am 120 lbs but am only 5′ 2″ so I need to lose some fat and would love to tone up. I am wondering if you take fat burners or supplements of any kind to help you to get in the shape that you are?

Can you email me any tips or workouts to get me going?

I thank God that I found your site!

      • Hi Le,
No supplements at all? Wow ~ then you did it the hard way. I am amazed at that because you look really healthy and in great shape. I thought I needed to buy some fat burner to get started and the people at the nutrition centers are great at offering help but something told me to wait and I’m glad that I did. I’m also glad that I googled HEB’s kale salad and found your recipe!

I appreciate your offer of sharing some workouts with me. That’s awesome and I really appreciate it! I will email you in a few minutes.

        Have a good day!

  10. Hey Leah! I just wanted to let you know that I love your blog! I’ve NEVER been a breakfast person but I wanted to become one so I wont succumb to the junk food that my staff leaves in the break room…or the cookies and cakes that some of my elderly patients INSIST on baking and bringing me… So I started trying some recipes last week, and your recipes are YUMMM! Keep up the great work!
